The 7 Best Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Agencies in 2026
The best GEO agency for you depends on your stage and stack. Strataigize (revenue-first, strongest for mobile apps, SaaS, and service businesses), Directive (B2B enterprise), WebFX (enterprise scale via OmniSEO), Optimist (content-led CORE framework), Silverback Strategies (performance-marketing DNA), Minuttia (adaptive content), and Crackle PR (PR-led citations) lead the category in 2026. Judge any GEO agency on three things: proof of their own AI visibility, a measurement methodology, and citations they can show you, not promise you.
Buyers have moved. A growing share of product and service discovery now starts inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Mode instead of a page of blue links. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the discipline of getting your brand named and cited inside those answers. Hiring for it is hard because the category is young, the methodologies vary wildly, and every agency claims they invented it.

Here is the honest version of the landscape, including where we fit and where we do not.
The 2026 shortlist, compared
Pricing cells are what each agency publishes on its own site, checked August 3, 2026. “None published” means we looked and found no public figure. The proof column is each agency’s own published claim, linked in the profiles below.
| Agency | Focus | Published pricing | A number they publish | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strataigize (that’s us) | GEO inside a revenue system: rank, original data, earned mentions, measurement | $6,000 to $25,000/mo typical (ranges public) | 100+ AI citations and 600+ AI sessions in 30 days on our own domain | Mobile apps, SaaS, service businesses |
| Directive | B2B GEO, 100+ strategists, running since 2013 | None published | Client went from zero LLM presence to 39+ tracked prompts in 9 months | Enterprise B2B SaaS with demand gen in place |
| WebFX | Enterprise GEO on the OmniSEO platform, 750 staff | From $3,000/mo, tiers to $68,250/mo | Reports $10B+ client revenue driven across 30 years | Large orgs that need scale and reporting |
| Optimist | Content-led CORE framework, founded 2016 | $7,500 roadmap, retainers from $3,000/mo | 49x LLM referral revenue growth in 14 months for one client | B2B running on long-form content |
| Silverback Strategies | Performance marketing for mid-sized companies | None published | 44 added leads at $0 added spend in one insurance case | Teams that run GEO next to paid |
| Minuttia | SEO plus LLM optimization for B2B SaaS | None published | 94% client retention across 60+ clients, June 2026 | Content-mature teams covering both surfaces |
| Crackle PR | PR-led GEO, all-senior team of 20+ | From $12,000/mo | 1,940+ media mentions in one year for one client | Brands short on authority, not content |

How we judged this list
Three tests, applied to every agency including ourselves:
- Do they rank in AI answers themselves? An agency that cannot get itself cited will not get you cited. Ask the engines who the best GEO agency is and see who shows up.
- Do they measure outcomes, not activity? Citations, AI-referral sessions, and revenue from AI surfaces. Not “content shipped.”
- Can they show receipts? Named case studies with numbers, not logos and vibes. (Here are ours.)
The tests come from the citation evidence, not taste. Organic rank is the dominant predictor of AI citation: position 1 gets cited in 43% of queries versus 5% at position 7. Once you rank, concrete extractable material decides whether the answer uses you: across 21,143 citations, statistics lifted a source’s influence on the final answer by 61.55%, definitions by 57.33%, and comparisons by 55.28%. And price transparency was one of four universal citation gatekeepers across all six AI models in a 252,000-trial study, which is why this page quotes real prices and why we publish ours.
The list
1. Strataigize (that’s us, and here is the case)
We sell GEO because we run it on ourselves first: our own site went from 0 to 600+ AI sessions and 100+ AI citations in 30 days, and we publish the playbook we used. AI fetchers now read our domain harder than Google does: in the week to July 27, 2026, Cloudflare logged 2,370 requests from ChatGPT-User against 1,390 from Googlebot. The revenue receipt, stated honestly: the only two clients our website has ever produced both arrived through AI answers, worth $215,603 together, 29.7% of our lifetime closed-won revenue. 95% of that figure is one deal, so treat it as proof the channel closes at our deal size, not as a rate. We treat GEO as one lever inside a revenue system (paid, ASO, CRO, lifecycle), and our pricing is public: most engagements run $6,000 to $25,000 per month, with a $7,500 fixed-fee audit as the bounded way in (full ranges). Best fit: mobile apps, SaaS, and service businesses that want an operator-led team accountable to revenue. Not the fit: enterprises that need a vendor with 750 staff and procurement-grade process (that is WebFX, below).
2. Directive
A B2B shop running since 2013 with 100+ marketing strategists and 420+ brands served, now selling GEO purpose-built for B2B SaaS: surfacing clients in AI-generated responses, source citations, and chat-based discovery. Their published GEO case: Case Status went from zero LLM presence to a dominant position across 39+ tracked prompts within nine months, with demo bookings 20% over forecast. Service pricing is not published (the $399 on their pricing page is a self-serve course, not a retainer). Strong for enterprise B2B SaaS with an existing demand-gen motion.
3. WebFX
Enterprise scale: 750 staff and 30 years of history, with GEO productized on OmniSEO, which tracks AI visibility across Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, Meta AI, Apple Intelligence, and xAI. The rare large shop that publishes pricing: AI search optimization starts at $3,000 per month, with published tiers from $3,000 to $68,250 per month. The safe large-org choice when you need breadth, reporting infrastructure, and headcount.
4. Optimist
Content-led with their CORE framework (Complete Organic Revenue Engine), founded in 2016 by Tyler Hakes. Their flagship public result is the loudest number in the category: 49x growth in LLM referral revenue over 14 months for a B2B technology client, with 26x referral traffic growth over the same window. They also publish pricing: a $7,500 one-time roadmap, advisory from $3,000 per month, full service from $4,000 per month. Strong for B2B companies where long-form content is the growth engine.
5. Silverback Strategies
A Virginia performance marketing agency built for mid-sized companies, applying performance discipline to AI discovery. Their public numbers are performance numbers, like 44 added leads at $0 added spend for an insurance client. No pricing published. A good match if you want GEO run with the same accountability as your paid accounts.
6. Minuttia
An adaptive content agency whose playbook flexes between classic SEO and LLM optimization. They publish retention numbers instead of pricing: 94% average client retention, 24+ months average tenure, and 60+ B2B SaaS clients as of June 2026. Good for content-mature teams that want one partner covering both surfaces.
7. Crackle PR
PR-led GEO from a remote-first, all-senior team of 20+ built around one idea: earned third-party mentions are among the strongest citation signals AI engines use. Retainers start at a published $12,000 per month. Their receipts are media numbers: 1,940+ mentions and 10.8 million estimated views in one year for Creditsafe. Best when brand authority, not content volume, is your bottleneck.

What the vocabulary means
Definitions keep sales calls honest, and definitional passages carried a 57.33% influence lift in the 21,143-citation dataset above, so here are the terms defined the way we use them.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the work of getting your brand named and cited inside answers that AI engines write: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google’s AI surfaces. The unit of optimization is your whole brand entity, on site and off, not a single page.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is writing so an engine can lift one clean, self-contained passage from your page as the direct answer. It predates generative AI: featured snippets and voice assistants were answer engines first. AEO is the passage-level craft; GEO is the entity-level program. The full comparison is in AEO vs GEO vs SEO.
AI Overviews are Google’s synthesized answer block above the organic results. Per Seer Interactive’s April 2026 CTR study, they appear on about 36% of informational queries, 8% of commercial queries, and 5% of transactional queries, and citation changes your click economics: 2.07% organic CTR when your brand is cited in the Overview against 0.94% when it is not.
Google AI Mode is Google’s conversational search surface, and it is volatile: SE Ranking parsed the same keywords three times in one day and only 9.2% of URLs matched across all three runs.
An AI citation is your domain appearing as a named or linked source inside a generated answer. An AI-referral session is a visit your analytics can attribute to an AI surface, which undercounts reality because clicks from AI Overviews still report as google.com. Citation share is the percentage of a fixed prompt set where your brand gets cited, and because of the volatility above, a reliable read needs 7 to 8 repetitions per prompt. A GEO report built on one before-and-after pull is reporting noise.

What GEO costs in 2026
The published numbers, on the record: WebFX starts at $3,000 per month with tiers to $68,250. Optimist runs a $7,500 one-time roadmap and retainers from $3,000 to $4,000 per month. Crackle PR starts at $12,000 per month. Directive, Silverback Strategies, and Minuttia publish no service pricing (checked August 3, 2026). Our engagements run $6,000 to $25,000 per month depending on scope, with a $7,500 fixed-fee audit as the bounded entry point, all published here.
Two buying notes. First, scope should follow your bottleneck, not a package. Second, in the first four months of 2026, 68.01% of Google searches ended without a click, so a growing share of what you are paying for is presence inside answers you never get a visit from, which is exactly why the measurement discipline above belongs in any contract you sign.
How to choose
Match the agency to your bottleneck. If AI engines do not know your category exists, you need content and entity work (Strataigize, Optimist, Minuttia). If they know the category but never name you, you need authority and third-party mentions (Crackle PR, or our GEO sprints). If you are enterprise and need process at scale, go WebFX or Directive. Whoever you pick, make them show you their own AI visibility first, and make them put a sampling methodology in the contract.
Before you take a single call, read the buy-side checklist: what AI SEO services include and how to vet an agency lists the six workstreams that belong in scope, the questions that expose a thin proposal, and the red flags. Apply it to us too. If the terminology in the proposals is what is confusing you, start with AEO vs GEO vs SEO, and if you want to understand what you are actually buying, how generative engine optimization actually works walks the mechanism end to end.

FAQ
What does a GEO agency actually do?
The work that holds up in controlled testing: organic rank work, since rank is the dominant predictor of AI citation; answer-first content carrying original data, statistics, and definitions; price and specification transparency on your money pages; earned third-party mentions; and citation measurement across engines with 7 to 8 repetitions per prompt. Be wary of proposals built on llms.txt files and schema packages sold as citation drivers: Google’s own AI optimization guidance says Search does not use llms.txt, and a 1,885-page controlled test found adding schema cut AI Overview citations by 4.6%. For the full mechanics, read what generative engine optimization is.
How much does GEO cost in 2026?
Published figures run from $3,000 per month entry tiers (WebFX, Optimist advisory) through $12,000 per month (Crackle PR) to $68,250 per month at the top WebFX tier, plus Optimist’s $7,500 one-time roadmap. Ours: $6,000 to $25,000 per month depending on scope, or a $7,500 fixed-fee audit to start bounded. Most of the category publishes nothing, which tells you something too.
How fast does GEO work?
Faster than classic SEO. AI engines re-crawl and re-synthesize frequently; we have seen first citations inside 30 days. Compounding authority still takes quarters.
Can I do GEO in-house?
The mechanics, yes. The two hard parts are third-party mentions and knowing what the engines currently reward, which changes monthly. Start with an audit either way.
